Captain Barclay Millennium Challenge


The start of the race was at 15.00 hrs in the centre of Newmarket. After a lap of 3 miles through town, the walkers did another extra 1 mile lap around the buildings of the Rowley Mile Racecourse and then started on the 2 mile lap around the racecourse and up and down the road leading to it. Start and finish of each lap was near the Millennium Grandstand.
RWV won Open Team prize, the Sunday Dispatch Trophy.

Ian Statter won the First New Centurion prize, the Hew Nielson 145 Trophy.

John Payn won the First 65+ Centurion prize, Eddie McNeir Shield
