Australian 24 Hour Race, Coburg, Victoria

16th-17th April 2011

Britsh Centurion Mark Wall won the 2011 Australian Centurions 24 hour race walk.

Mark became Australian C.59 with a time of 23:20:41 for the 100 miles.

Mark, born in Melbourne, started his race walking career in the 1973/74 Interclub competition in Victoria, culminating in 1989 with the bronze medal in the Australian 20km Championship and a gold medal in the Victoria 50km Championship.

Mark moved to the UK and joined Leicester Walking Club and has been a regular competitor. Mark eventually qualified as a British Centurion, (C.1071) in 2009 with a 100 mile time of 2 1:08:36.

Also competing in the Coburg, was Enfield & Haringey's Serena Queeney.

Serena did a personal best by 6km,and came third in the ladies race with a 153.638km result - so tantalisingly close to the magic 100.
Jill Green C.898 was there to support Serena throughout the race.

Hopefully, Serena will be successful in Lingfield 100 mile (2nd-3rd July 2011)
