I looked back at the history in Colchester....

There were 119 walkers who tried to become a Centurion, 1 to 4 times.

They came from 9 Nations: Germany, Great-Britain, Nederland, Danmark, Ukraine,Italy, Belgium, USA and Nigeria.

80 attempts were succesfull, 15 in 1985 on the track, 26 in 1996, 15 in 2001 and 24in 2004. 4 of the Centurions are deseased.

In the ranking list is Richard Brown is the fastest in 18.12.04. At that time he succeeded fot the 11th time when he was 49 years old.
The slowest was Gerrit de Jong in 1996. 23.55.51 was his time. He succeeded for the 16th time at the age of 54.

The youngest was Frans Leijtens in 1996 when he was 20. His time was 23.36.14.
The oldest was in the same year Joop Wissink in 22.50.42 when he was over 70.

35 New Centurion numbers were given in Colchester. The average agewas over 44 years.

11 persons succeeded 2 or more times. Martin Fisher was 4 times succesfull.

24 walkers registered the fastest time in Great-Britain in Colchester. 3 duo's finished together in the same time.
