Race information

What you need to do:
1. If you wish to enter, please fill in the entry form and return it to Kathy Crilley (GB Team Manager) by 31st August in order to return to the organiser by the closing date.
2. Arrange your own travel and accommodation. The nearest hotels are:
- Camponile
- Ibis (race HQ which has a discounted rate)
Getting there:
- Journey time from Dunkirk is about 2 hours maximum (slightly longer from Calais)
- Eurostar to Lille and local metro direct to Central Roubaix (just round the corner from the Ibis)
- As usual, the French organisers do make a contribution to travel and accommodation.
- Friday evening meal is gratis for all walkers - same place as last year La Papillotte, 3, rue de l’Epaule.
- There is a meal provided on Saturday lunchtime - presumably at the same venue as previous years (confirmation to follow)
New for 2011
- Race start is from the Place de la Liberte (opposite the Church St Pierre) in Croix - change from previous years.
- Supporters must take the walkers to the start in Croix - [Note - we can pool resources to get all walkers to the start]
The circuits....
The first big lap is 20km - slight modification to the last few years - by 500 metres or so.
- The remainder of the race: 3,200kms circuit will be within Parc Barbieux.
- Two feeding stations and one first aid post.
- Mini circuit (up and down) of 1km from 4pm on Sunday.
Prizes
- All (classified) walkers will receive a cash prize (down to the 40th finisher (M) and 8th finisher (F) see list . There will be no other prizes as in previous years.
- There are also prizes for first at 100kms, 150kms and 200kms

TImings:
- Men: Must complete 110km within 20 hours (average of 5.5km per hour)
- Women: Must complete 90 km within 20 hours (4.5 km per hour)
- After 0900 no-one will be eliminated (on reaching the above)

... On crossing the finish line at 17hours

24 hour relay
If you don’t fancy 28 hours, there is the chance to participate in a team 24 hour relay
- The Roubaix relay is a 24 hour race starting at 5pm Saturday in Parc Barbieux.
- A team consists of 3 walkers over the age of 18 years and can be a mixed team, licensed or non –licensed. Every non-licensed member should present a medical certificate. Licensed walkers should take their registration card and photo ID.
